Early Voting in Person Starts Tuesday, February 18th

For those wanting to vote in the 2014 Primary Election the wait is almost over.

Early Voting in Person will begin on Tuesday, February 18th for the Joint Primary Election of the Republican and Democratic Parties in Victoria County. Early voting will be held at the Pattie Dodson Public Health Center in Classroom A from 8 am to 5 pm, weekdays. The Public Health Center is located at 2805 N. Navarro. The last day of early voting in person will be Friday, February 28th.

Additional hours of early voting in person are scheduled for Saturday, February 22nd from 9 am to 5 pm and on Thursday and Friday, February 27th and 28th from 7 am to 7 pm.

The Joint Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, March 4th. Polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm on Election Day. Victoria County will use Vote Centers, allowing a voter to cast their ballot at any polling location in the county on Election Day.

All registered voters in Victoria County are eligible to vote in the primary election. Voters may vote only once in any election and this is true in the primary. A voter must decide in which party they wish to participate and they may only vote in one party during a primary or runoff election. By voting in a party's primary a voter must limit their party activities to one party.

For those who qualify for a ballot by mail the last day for the Early Voting Clerk to accept an Application to Vote by Mail is Friday, February 21st. Voters by mail must meet one or more of the following criteria.

65 years of age or older by election day; having a disability which prevents them from entering the polling location; being confined in jail; being absent from the county during early voting in person and on Election Day.
