February Fizzles

February 5, 2013

So I'm looking through the month of February, and I notice that there aren't that many lovey-dovey movies coming out this month. You've got Warm Bodies, Safe Haven, and Beautiful Creatures, and these titles are really barely qualifying as hit romances.

Warm Bodies is a zombie movie with a Romeo and Juliete twist to it. A young girl finds herself falling for a zombie boy who saves her life more than once. Zombie boy then finds himself starting to feel again. If you can tolerate zombies dining on brains, this movie is a good watch. If you are not open minded enough, you may find it to be slow. There are no big names in the film, except for the director, Jonathan Levine, who is responsible for 50/50, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen. Warm Bodies looks like fun entertainment.

Safe Haven stars Julianna Hough and the ever so yummy Josh Duhamel. The Transformers star plays a widower who falls for a woman with a mysterious past and helps her to deal with some dark secrets that are troubling her. It's a romantic drama that will have some tears rolling. Josh seems to take on these roles with ease. Safe Haven is about the closest there is this month to a good romantic tear jerker. It's adapted from a book written by the same author who wrote The Notebook and Dear John. Both did well as movies, but when it comes to Nicholas Sparks, I prefer the book.

Then we have the hit book turned movie, Beautiful Creatures. This cast includes the phenominal Emma Thomas playing a dark character, which is awesome to see, and the amazing Jeremy Irons, he's just awesome. In my opinion, these two will make this movie. The rest of the cast seems promising but having these two iconic talents in the movie adds so much to it. Movies from books is the popular thing these days. Some are hits like the Harry Potter movies and the Twilight saga. However, some were better as books, such as The Notebook, which, as I have said, was a good movie in its own right, but they made changes to the book that shorted the story.

So, there you have it. That's about the month of February. the month of Valentine's Day, has to offer as far to romance. Now, if your like me, you'll be drooling at all the action movies coming out this month. Yes, another Bruce Willis die hard movie is coming out this month, and I can't wait.

As far as action and scarey, this month has some good movies to offer. So whatever your taste, I'm sure you'll find something to entertain you.
