Hi, I am Jimmy. There is no telling what I will blog about here, but I think that a lot of it might be educational to vision impaired persons.

I am a blind person who has really gotten upset with the Government agencies that are supposed to help us as blind or visually impaired people get along in todays world. These organizations are paid by our Government and are told what they can and cannot offer to people. This is really sad because a lot of things they offer are extremely out of the price ranges of disabled people.

It is time somebody in the victoria area let people know about things that are available for us as blind people that do not involve all the haste that is involved in dealing with a Government sponsored organization.

I know I will give information here that will endanger some government employees jobs, but it is time that people learn that they don't have to jump through hoops for the Government to find and learn to use todays technology for themselves. All it takes is a little research and sometimes help from the sighted world. I am hoping to provide some of this help with this blog.

Did you know that all apple products come with built in accessibility in them for not only blind people, but for those with low vision as well as hearing problems? Did you know that there is free software out there that can make any windows computer accessible to a blind person? Did you know that you as a sighted person can help with little out of your pocket to make sure that blind persons can access the same materials you do? Did you know that there are simple things a business can do to make shopping easier for disabled people?

These types of things is what the public needs to be aware of as well as disabled or blind people. While I'm not the most knowledgeable person around, I plan to blog about things like this that I have learned and experienced.
