Betcha didn't know this!!!

Just read alittle piece on MSN about a girl in Iceland who can't use her first name because it isn't on the GOVERNMENT list of approved names. The article showed several other countries like Germany and Finland that ahve similar rules. Supposedly it helps prevent embarrassment for the child and makes sure that the child's name is pronounceable in the Icelandic language. Thought I'd throw this out there and see who rersponds. Just to start the discussion,I'm totally in faveor of it. I'm fairly sure that Libertarians and anti-government conservatives won't agree but--that's waht makes a horserace, a difference of opinion.
