Jennifer Lee Preyss is a nationally award-winning religion reporter and columnist and special sections editor at the Victoria Advocate. She also serves as editor-in-chief of the Advocate's GC magazine.

Jennifer's coverage of spirituality in Texas garnered her first national honor, the 2012 Religion Newswriters Association Cassels Religion Reporter of the Year award. In 2013, Jennifer was selected by Rotary District 5930 to travel to Southern India for a month where she wrote a daily blog, “Land of the Gods,” about the diversity of religion in Kerala state.

Her popular “Revelations” column, which runs Saturday in the Victoria Advocate Faith section, recently won first place at the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors' annual awards ceremony.

Jennifer is one of only a handful of full-time religion reporters in the vast state of Texas, which affords the unique opportunity to remain largely autonomous.

With a honed knowledge of religion diversity in South Texas, combined with Jennifer’s extensive world travels, she is often invited as a guest speaker for various clubs, organizations, events, churches, schools and other groups to share her knowledge of interfaith communities.
