Retired Marine corpsman Nick Lowry, of Victoria, takes a moment of silence during a prayer vigil at Northside Baptist Church in Victoria to honor victims of a shooting that took place at Fort Hood military base Wednesday. About 50 people were in attendance Sunday evening for the vigil put on by the Christian Warriors Retreat organization. "It's a tough blow," said Lowry, who served two tours of duty in Iraq between 2000 and 2007 and now works to help veterans returning home. "The most important thing for a veteran returning home is a peer-to-peer system - someone they can talk to," Lowry said.
