At least 865 customers without power in Port Lavaca, AEP reports

Power is currently being restored to about 865 customers in Port Lavaca who were without power Thursday night.

The outage happened about 7:10 p.m., said Elgin Janssen, AEP spokesman. A power pole was knocked down, however, Janssen did not know why.

Most of the customers without power live north of Main Street along state Highway 35, he added.

Power is expected to be restored fully by 9:30 p.m.
