Early voting ends Friday in primary

Friday is the last day to vote early in Tuesday's primary elections.

Voting is from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Dr. Pattie Dodson Public Health Center, 2805 N. Navarro St., Classroom A.

On Thursday, 326 people voted in person in the Republican Party primary to bring the in-person total to 1,495. Also, 1,088 of the 1,372 mailed ballots have been returned, according to a news release from the Victoria County Election Administrator's office.

In the Democratic Party primary, 53 people voted Thursday to bring the in-person total to 293. Of the 374 mailed ballots, 287 have been returned.

Ballots mailed must be returned no later than Election Day by common or contract carrier, according to the news release.

On Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Vote centers will be used throughout the county.
