Two people were taken to Citizens Medical Center in Victoria late Friday after they were hurt in a crash south of Cuero.

A DeWitt County Sheriff's Office dispatcher said the crash occurred at U.S. Highway 183 south and U.S. 87 north about 9:50 p.m.

The identities of those hurt and the extent of their injuries were not available Saturday.

The dispatcher said the state's Department of Public Safety was investigating the crash. She said officials had to search for a person who fled the scene. Other details were not available.
