Some American Electric Power customers in Victoria experienced about a 30-minute long outage Tuesday morning.
The lights were out from 10:24 to 10:57 a.m. for businesses on North Navarro Street such as Gold's Gym Express.
Mary Gutierres, the region's customer service account representative, said crews are still investigating the outage's cause.
She said workers heard a pop on their distribution line at AEP's Magruder substation on North Vine Street, which serves 690 customers.
AEP received 75 calls about the incident, she said.
A bird may have gotten into the line or tree limbs downed by weather Monday, which boasted winds of nearly 50 mph, may have been laying on the power line. It has since been repaired, Gutierres said.
"We try to patrol and fix what we can when it happens," she said.
