Councilman Joe Truman filed for re-election Tuesday.

Truman said he needed time to get his campaign team together.

"I'm looking forward to hopefully representing my district a third term," Truman said.

Truman represents Super District 5.

Former councilman Gabriel Soliz filed on opening day, Jan. 31, for the Super District 5 office.

Truman said this is his first time to run against someone he previously served alongside.

"It'll be great to step up in the fray with someone I consider a friend," Truman said.
