Hege Riise was recently hired as a counselor in the University of Houston-Victoria's Counseling Center. She offers counseling services to students as well as training and consulting for students, faculty and staff. Her new position is partially funded by a three-year, $300,000 U.S. Department of Justice grant. Riise finished her psychology residency at Arizona State University Counseling Services just before joining UHV.

Whitney Schroeder recently joined the University of Houston-Victoria Small Business Development Center as its senior secretary. She is the first point of contact for small-business owners wanting to use the UHV SBDC's services and sets up appointments for training and business advising. She previously worked in accounts payable for Nitro Construction's Yorktown office.
