Victoria police are on the lookout for three men suspected to be involved in Thursday night's shooting of Dalton Kellis on Antelope Circle.

The shooting took place about 8:30 p.m.

Kellis, 38, was listed in stable condition at DeTar Hospital Navarro, a hospital representative said about 8 p.m. Friday.

"Three unidentified males fled the scene, but there is no suspect information to release at this time," said Sgt. Eline Moya, public information officer for the Victoria Police Department.

As of late Friday night, no arrests had been made, a police department spokesman said.

The police report indicates charges of burglary of a habitation with the intent to commit a felony and deadly conduct could be filed against the men.

A shotgun was listed on the report as the weapon used in the incident.

Moya would not speculate on a motive for the shooting.

"The case is under investigation, and detectives are following up on all leads," she said.

Kellis has a criminal history, starting in February 1994 with a conviction for possession of a controlled substance by fraud, according to Texas Department of Public Safety criminal history records.

He was also convicted in March 1994 for possession of marijuana, in May 2000 for possession of marijuana, in January 2001 for a prohibited substance in a correctional facility, in October 2004 for possession of marijuana, in June 2009 for possession of a controlled substance, in October 2009 for possession of a controlled substance and in October 2009 for theft,
