Neighbor says he saw wounded man after shooting

A 38-year-old man was shot Thursday night inside a Victoria home in the 300 block of Antelope Circle, according to a witness at the scene.

A neighbor, Mike Medrano, said he heard three shots fired about 8:30 p.m. in his neighborhood and immediately told his wife and children to get into the back bedroom of their house. He then called 911.

Medrano went outside and saw men running from the area and noticed that the door of one of neighbor's homes had bullet holes.

Medrano said he went inside the neighbor's house and saw his neighbor in pain and in a recliner. He said the man had been shot at least once in his left hip.

The wounded man was taken by ambulance to a hospital.

Victoria police said late Thursday that they could only identify the wounded man by his first name, Dalton. His last name was not available. Officials also said three men were involved in the shooting, but no description was available late Thursday.
