A Victoria man was arrested early Wednesday afternoon after Victoria police and U.S. Marshal's officers surrounded a home on Fern Lane at Sam Houston Drive.

Victoria officers contained the area while U.S. Marshal's officers went into the home to arrest Joe Luis Hernandez, age not available, on a parole violation charge. He had served time in prison on a murder charge, said Police Sgt. Lee Lemmons.

Hernandez remained jailed Wednesday night.
