Allen Harrison Development recently celebrated the grand opening of phase one of The Remington, a luxury apartment complex at 2402 N. Ben Wilson St.

The complex, a mix of one and two-bedroom units, features a Class A clubhouse with a business center, fitness center, outdoor kitchen and fire pit. Controlled-access gates, individual garages and oversized patios also join the mix.

At more than 30 percent occupied, leasing on phase one exceeds expectations, according to a news release issued by Slant Partners.

The area's growing demand for housing, fueled by a thriving oil and gas industry and Caterpillar plant construction, led Allen Harris to invest in Victoria, according to the release.

"The response from the city of Victoria, both from city personnel as well as its residents, has been overwhelmingly positive and has allowed us to be ahead of our construction schedule, as well as our leasing schedule," Rene Joubert, the development company's president, said. "Allen Harrison is thrilled to be a part of this community."

Victoria Mayor Will Armstrong, in the release, congratulated those involved for investing in Victoria's future.

" ... I predict the best is yet to come," he said.

Construction continues on phase two of the project, which will introduce another 42 units in April. Once completed, the complex will consist of 286 units.

AHC Construction, an affiliated firm, serves as general contractor, overseeing the development's construction activities.
