Two people were transported to Citizens Medical Center about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday after a two-vehicle wreck on Houston Highway at John Stockbauer Drive.

The driver of a Chrysler Aspen, Roxanne Armstrong, 39, of Victoria, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries, said Sgt. Herschel Buck with the Victoria Police Department.

She was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. A hospital spokesperson said she was in stable condition.

Her son, 16, was treated and released at Citizens Medical Center, a hospital spokesperson said.

Armstrong was headed east on Houston Highway when she ran the red light, Buck said, striking a Honda Element.

The driver of the Element, John Bradley, 58, of Victoria, was driving north on John Stockbauer Drive and was not injured.

The Aspen rolled at least once, Buck said, and neither Armstrong nor her son were wearing seatbelts.
