A Victoria man was sentenced Thursday to life in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Isaac Gonzalez, 30, was also given a 15-year prison sentence after a jury found him guilty on Aug. 22 of two counts of indecency with a child and sexual contact.
District Judge Robert Cheshire handed down the sentence.
Evidence presented throughout the three-day trial showed Gonzalez began abusing a 10-year-old girl in her home in 2008 before he was removed and her family got the Victoria County Sheriff's Office involved, according a news release from Victoria District Attorney Stephen B. Tyler's office.
Gonzalez's attorney Timothy McCoy was not available for comment.
