A train car partially derailed along the Port Lavaca Highway on Tuesday afternoon, causing the freight to come to a stop.
The train blocked traffic for at least five hours after it came to a stop about 1:30 p.m. at Avenue D through Ben Jordan Street.
The track was cleared about 8:30 p.m.
Crews had to disconnect the car from the train before cranes were brought in to place the car back on track and re-attach it to the train.
