Wrecked

VICTORIA - Police responded to a vehicle with a malfunctioning tire about 6 p.m. Friday in the 2600 block of Pleasant Green. Victoria Patrol Officer F. Reyes said Roy Nanez, of Victoria, no age available, was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Reyes did not know if Nanez was driving the car at the time it malfunctioned. No one was hurt, and the vehicle had minor damages, Reyes said.

Fire• VICTORIA - Sparks from a powerline started a fire in the backyard of a home in the 400 block of Arabian Street about 3:30 p.m. Friday. The homeowners had extinguished most of the flames by the time the Victoria Fire Department arrived. No one was hurt.

VICTORIA - A fire was reported about 6:30 p.m. Friday at a cemetery on the Old Refugio Highway. The Victoria Fire Department responded and put out the fire caused by an open crematorium with fire extinguishers, officials said.



Arrested

VICTORIA - Jacob Rickey Garcia, 19, of Victoria, by deputies Thursday on a warrant charging him with burglary of a habitation.

VICTORIA - Glenn Ray Haynes, 52, of Victoria, by deputies Thursday on a warrant charging him with violation of probation in a driving while intoxicated, third or more offense case.

VICTORIA - Joe Ryan Herrera Jr., 25, of Port Lavaca, by deputies Thursday on a warrant charging him with violation of probation in an aggravated assault against a public servant case.
