Shiner attorney V'Anne Huser, who represented the father who killed the man he caught molesting his daughter in Lavaca County on June 9, said requests to make donations to the family should be directed to charity.
"They are extremely grateful for this outpouring of support," she said. "However, they ask that people give money to a charity in their area, which provides services for abused or neglected children."
In the Crossroads, agencies that provide related services include Hope of South Texas in Victoria, Norma's House in Gonzales and the Harbor Child Alliance Victim Center in Port Lavaca.
