Please join me in supporting Judge Annie Ramos, my friend and neighbor. Annie Ramos has more than 30 years of experience in county and city government. I have seen her stop everything, even on holidays, to help the county or city when a magistrate needed to be on-call. Annie has helped so many people for no financial gain. She will be a great commissioner, because she has made it a purpose to help so many families. She will do the same with roads and drainage sites. However, you don't need to be a road expert to be commissioner. Just as Commissioner Burns said in the League of Women Voters' forum, "The job has changed, that's the old cliché. It's not just about keeping up with bridges and roads. It's bigger than that." Our taxpayers are paying for the staff and foremen to do these jobs. Economic development will be Annie's expertise. She will help bring businesses and create well-paying jobs while using our tax dollars responsibly. Electing a proven leader, like Annie, will be a tremendous benefit for Precinct 1 and Victoria County. Let's make history and elect the first woman to the Commissioner's Court. Vote on July 31.
