Best Live Music Venue: Lu Raq's Restaurant and Beer Garden

Built less than two years ago, Lu Raq's Restaurant and Beer Garden has already gained a following of loyal customers who voted it the best place to see live music in the Crossroads.

Owner Joe Ornelas said the reason the place has been successful is simple: people

like being outside.

"We wanted an outdoor place. Victoria doesn't have anything like that," he said.

Situated just outside the city on a few acres, the venue attracts mostly rock and country bands from all over Texas and even some surrounding states that play to lively crowds.

It also attracts families.

"It's a bar, but it's also a restaurant and a family place," Ornelas said.

The outdoor patio is not only popular for music, but also for volleyball, horseshoes,

washers and other outdoor activities.

Despite being a young bar, Lu Raq's has a booked schedule of everything from a crawfish festival to a Cinco de Mayo cook-off, its variety of attractions likely making it a favorite Crossroads destination for years to come.
