Theatre Victoria has a new executive director. Well, sort of.
Past director Scott Mohon reassumed his role Tuesday, said Omar Rachid, the theater board's president.
"I asked him to come back and lead the theater again." Rachid said. "And he was able to take us up on the offer. We are obviously very, very delighted that he's back."
Mohon left in March for an executive director position at the Newport Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island, according to previous Advocate reports.
At the time, he had worked at the Victoria company for four years.
Charles Moster worked as the theater's producing artistic director in Mohon's absence, but was fired in early December.
Rachid said the board invited Mohon back because he understands the organization and community.
"Just from having previously worked with him, we knew that he would be the perfect fit," he said of the Victoria native.
"So, therefore, there was absolutely no hesitation in reaching out to him and asking him to come back."
Attempts to contact Mohon via phone and at his office were unsuccessful.
