Description

The El Campo High School STARS are proud to present a tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme, Beauty and the Beast for their 2012 Fall Production. The ECHS Auditorium has been magically transformed into an enchanted castle to bring audiences the story of Belle, a young girl living in a country town in France who dreams of adventure in far off places and a young prince doomed to live under a curse until he can find someone to see beyond his beastly outside appearance and into his heart. Along the way, Bell finds friendships in talking wardrobes, singing tea pots, and chattering clocks and candlesticks. This timeless tale reveals that appearances are not always what they seem and reminds us to never judge a book by its cover.
Not only does this production feature a cast and crew of 33 high school students, but 23 Little Stars from our local elementary and middle schools will join the Stars to present this magical musical. Director, Katrese Skinner says, “We hope and encourage our audience to find their inner child or their inner princess.” In fact, little princess are encouraged to put on their ball gowns and young knights may put on their armor. Individuals wishing to participate in our scholarship fundraiser, “A Rose for a Princess” may purchase an enchanted rose in the lobby before the performance. During intermission, princess will be called on stage to “parade their gowns” and receive their enchanted rose. Pre-registration for “A Rose for a Princess” is available in the ECHS principal’s office, or you may email kskinner@ecisd.org for more information, availability is limited.
